Kim's Garden and Memorial Bench
Просмотров 59Год назад
I was at Conifer Medical Center on Tuesday and saw the bench. I never knew it was there! Anyway, with cold weather on the way, the planters were looking pitiful, so I got some artificial fall foliage and Zhuzhed it up a bit. It is holding up to the wind (so far)

Today's wind and aspen leaves and our little pond
Просмотров 1562 года назад
We installed a pump and skimmer on the pond this year and it is working well especially now with the aspen leaves coming down. Today I will most likely be emptying the skimmer every hour.

Today is the first day that the squirrels have begun to use the suspension bridge I made. I made it for this winter so they have option to get up to deck without plowing through the Colorado Winter Snow. It's been up for 3 weeks. I am so pleased

New waterfall on our little pond
Просмотров 303 года назад
We installed a skimmer and a pump to help keep the pond clear of debris and leaves. I wanted a return with both fast moving water for sound and aeration AND a slow moving, pooling section for wildlife and insects to get water.

When I created the waterfall, I wanted a section that was slow moving for birds and others to be able to drink from. taking a bath is a bonus.

    So a week ago I heard a noise I’ve never heard before behind our cabin. I thought it was a deer but it lasted for ten minutes and slowly got farther away. My dad can’t hear shit and never heard it. I googled and this fucking sound is exactly what it was! I never saw it tho! So thank you for this video!

      I was outside working in my garage late, past dark. We regularly have a black bear with cubs in the spring, never heard them chuff before, she was chugging and close. We just put up bird feeders again, I know she was just letting me know she's there but I had never heard a bear chuff, and this was x5 what was on this video possibly because she was so close, like 30 yards from previous foot prints this year. Holy smokes, I didn't know what I was hearing but it could only be a bear a person....or alien.

      Sometimes... not always just remember even though they are black it doesn't mean they are any less dangerous there's plenty of attacks with black just as much as grizzly I would say but I would have to look at statistics. I think that it all really boils down to timing and place hope you always end up on the right side of both of those in any encounter every bear is different.

    • @angela-sanders
      @angela-sanders 3 года назад

      I was on the deck at the back door of our house. The bear is coming down towards the house and those of us that live with bears know that we have a role to play to keep them safe and alive. They do not need to learn to come to houses, nor teach the littles ones. They get put down by wildlife control if they become "pests". We must scare them off and make sure they NEVER associate humans and houses as OK.

    • @angela-sanders
      @angela-sanders 4 года назад

      there will not cause any harm to your shrimp, we just don't like to look at them. :) They show up when we are overfeeding and are doing their job -eating. The solution is to clean the tank gravel and feed less.

      I'd get a male or female betta, depending on tank size. they're known to love worms. If there are enough shrimp & hiding spaces, there's less risk of bullying (tho i have a male in a 20 gal community tank, he's not aggressive whatsoever and he has a bunch of friends lol)
